Show Sorenson Reunion Held at Palisade The second annual reunion of the John E. Sorenson family, held at Palisade park Sunday, proved a real treat and social affair. A slight rain during the day did not deter the plans of the reunion and the 36 immediate im-mediate members of the family, with Mrs. Y. C. Sorenson, wife of the late John Sorenson, heading the group, a jolly time was had by every member present. The crowd gathered early at the famous resort and remained the entire day. The festivities started at ten-thirty with a mixed program of music, readings and recitations. The program was made brief and when the lunch hour approached there were thirty hungry people. Huge lunch baskets, bas-kets, filled with delicacies, were opened open-ed and the contents spread on one long table. The lunch, naturally, was one of the main events of the day. Shortly after luncheon, Mrs. Y. C. Sorenson was presented with a beautiful beau-tiful and valuable gold wrist watch. The presentation was made by Dr. W. L. Sorenson, son of Mrs. Sorenson, the honored guests at the reunion. Later afternoon was spent in bathing, bath-ing, boating and fishing by the elders, while the children of the group indulged in-dulged in games under the shade of the trees. Relatives from out-of-town attending attend-ing the reunion were Mr. and Mrs, Hugh Kearns and children of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. WemHl Perkins and children of Smithfield; Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Sorenson of Sandy; Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Peterson of Cedar City, and Mrs. John Jensen of Los Angeles, Calif. |
