Show Wheat Shipment is Expected Soon Indications are that shipments of the wheat and flour, being distributed distribut-ed through the Red Cross chapter of this county, will be moving in by the latter part of the week. Mrs. Spencer Moffitt, Red Cross chairman for Sanpete San-pete county, has been advised that 2,700,000 pounds of wheat and 600 barrels of flour are now enroute to Sanpete county, which will be distributed dis-tributed as follows: Indianola and Milburn, one and one-half carloads; Fairview, 7 cars; Spring City, 4 cars; Mt. Pleasant, 4 cars; Manti and Sterling, Ster-ling, 7 cars; Ephraim, 3 cars; Moroni, Wales, Chester, Freedom and Ft. Green, 11 cars; Gunnison, Mayfield, Fayette, Clarion, Centerfield, and Ax-tell, Ax-tell, 15 cars. The government wheat, which is being be-ing distributed in the drouth-stricken areas, is coming from Salina, Kan., St. Joseph, Mo., Denver, Colo., and Ogden. Plans for equal distribution of the wheat and flour have been worked out by Mrs, Moffitt. When the wheat arrives, ar-rives, it will be distributed under careful care-ful checking, and each recipient will be required to sign a statement as to the amount received and in turn all records will be returned to Red Cross headquarters. In response to requests made by people of the county, an additional requisition of 54 cars of wheat will be made. The situation seems to be more serious than it appeared to be when the committee reached its decision as to the amount needed. |
