Show Retiring President Royally Entertained , i Mrs. Amanda Beck, who has served faithfully as president of the j Young Ladies Mutual Improvement j association since, the ' organization ol the stake, together with her associ- i ate officers, was the motif for a ! splendid party held at Centerfield i Friday evening of last week. Mrs. Beck has resigned her position and has been succeeded by Mrs. Sylvia Metcalf of Gunnison. For the occasion occa-sion a fine program was given, con-' sisting of a welcome address by Chas. E. Embley, piano duet, Misses La-vona La-vona Beck and Ruby Fjeldsted; talk, Erma Lundeberg; reading Affalone : Jensen; talk, C. A. Peterson; response, re-sponse, Mrs. Amanda Beck; solo, Mrs. Svlvia Metcalf- tallr A . w Keams, and remarks by A. E. Park.' During the program a high tribute! was paid Mrs. Beck for efficient work and interest in the upbuilding! of the association. After the program pro-gram a social hour was spent in ' dancing and games and later a splendid luncheon was served. During Dur-ing the lunch many responses were given by those around the festal board. The new stake officers are Mrs. ' Sylvia Metcalf, president; Erma' Lundeberg, first counsellor; Mabel Larson, second counsellor; Affalone Jensen, secretary. The board managers man-agers are Mrs.- Agnes Sorenson, Mrs. Chas. E. Embley, Mrs. Alice Christensen, Chris-tensen, Mrs. Rachel Childs and Miss Lavona Beck. |
