Show MANTI MINSTRELS MAKE REAL HIT IN GUNNISON The Manti Commercial club minstrels, min-strels, which played an engagement in this city last Saturday night, made a real hit and the large audience attending at-tending was well paid. Laughs were plenty and the solos, choruses, quartets quar-tets and duets were cleverly and artistically ar-tistically executed and elicited much applause. There -were twenty-five black faces in the troup and each proved an artist. Glen Jensen, William Wil-liam Foy, Jesse Keller and Tom Keller, Kel-ler, playing the part of end-men, had many of the would-be professionals "up a tree" for real "coon" work. Their clever jokes, ditties and stunts proved 'royal entertainment and won repeated applause. Wilfbrd Frischknecht, as interlocutor, interlocu-tor, did his work in fine style and at no time was there a pause to break the chain of laughter. An added feature was the clever orchestral wo:k by the musicians with the troup. This work and the direction of the minstrel show, was under the direction direc-tion of Ellis E. Johnson, Manti's leading lead-ing musician. |
