Ensign. Singing by the choir. Prayer by Ulder Christian Hansen. Singing. Sacrament administered by the Priesthood of the Second Wuid. Elder James Bywater read the tenth chapter of St. John. . The choir sang a hymn. Elder Nephi Anderson iras called to speak to the people. Referred to the reading of the scriptures which we have heard, and especially which have a reference to the God- head. Compared the dulerence of faith of the Latter-day Saints and that of the Christian world, who believe in a God without body, parts and passions. Referred to the false notions that are abroad concerning the situation of the Latter-day Saints as compared with the outside world. Spoke of the educational advantages we have even in our home teachers in our public schools. Showed the advantages ad-vantages of grading the schools, which is really the best method for the benefit of their future good. Dwelt at length on this subject. High Counsellor Peter F, Mad son was the next speaker. Felt to dwell on the same subject as the last speaker, namely, the education of our children. Dwelt briefly on the manner which the heads of the church have adopted in establishing establish-ing the Stake Academies, also of the organizations of the young people and the benefits derived there by. Thought that centralization was the best method that could be adopted in our school situation. Thought it would not be advisable to place ourselves in embarrassing circumstances in making changes in our school business. Said that it was really necessary to employ those as teachers who would teach our children right and teach them good morals as well as the , learning of the world. Illustrated his ideas by referring to the business busi-ness firms ami the changes made in their clerks, and said when they have individuals who understand their mode they keep them. Just the same with school teachers, when the trustees find they have teachers who understand their duties and have the interest of the work at heart, I hey should see to it to secure their services for their children's benefit.
