Some little stir was caused this week by a report that a valuable gold strike hud been made in the hills east of Brigham. Inquiry produced produc-ed the following facts. Last summer sum-mer a Mr. Smith, relative of ex-Councilman ex-Councilman Davis, discovered and located a promising claim near Public Grove, sonic ten miles east of Brigham. He has been quietly but diligently working the mine ever since. A few dnys ago his labors were rewarded. He struck a rich voin of ore. He took samples sam-ples to Salt Lake, where the as-sayer as-sayer delighted his heart with the information that his rock ran $200 gold to the ton. A number of Brigham people saw the valuable ore and pronounced it fine. This week a party of mining capitalists capi-talists hired an out (it from here and went up to see the find. They returned apparently satisfied but resolved on a mum policy. Further Fur-ther informationcould not lie learned, learn-ed, but it is understood that negotiations negotia-tions for the .sale of the property are under way. It appears as though a large number of new chums will he staked out in the vicinity of the new find at break of spring. |
