Show Word has been received from American Fork to the effect that Moroni ChiUis, who was seriously hurt in an auto accident on Provo bench early last week, was recovering recover-ing slowly and that the patient had passed the danger point. Mrs. L. G. Anderson and Mrs. J. S. Peterson were hostesses at a -jharming lawn party at the Ander-1 son ' home Monday evening of this ,veek, complimentary to Mrs. Lillian Keysor. It was Mrs. Keysor's birthday anniversary and twenty friends were invited. Progressive "500" was the diversion and favors were won by Mrs'. Ben Roper and Mrs. Clarence Madsen. Dainty refreshments re-freshments 'were served. I Mrs. Sidney J. Baxter has as her I house guest this week Miss Veda ; .Vest of Provo. Miss Vest will remain re-main until after the 24th. Hugh Halverson is in the city and !the gaest at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. O H. Halverson. Hugh will spend a two weeks' vaca- tion here and incidentally will visit , Fishlake, Bryce canyon and other summer' resorts. ! LOCAL ITEMS I OF INTEREST -I : : Mr. and Mrs. L. II. Kuiiz, the dentist, came home Monday after spending the week-end at Ogden and Salt Lake as the guest of friends and relatives. E. E. Paynier, representing the Central U. S. Swine company, accompanied ac-companied by Mis. Paynter and son, spent the ea.ly days here from Salt Lake. Mr. Paynter was looking after af-ter his company's interests while in the city. 4 Dyer O. Miss Leona Samuelson of Salt Lake is here and is the house gdest of Mr. and M:s. O. H. Halverson. Miss Samuelson will, spend the week here Mrs. Pvoss Palmer delightfully entertained en-tertained the R. N. A. club at hei home last Saturday afternoon Twenty members and guests were present and the main diversion was. Progressive "500". Before returning Miss Hagan Ha-gan will visit for a short time with friends at Salt Lake. I. W. Pierce, accompanied by Iris two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Elliott and Mrs. Pierce Earl, and Henry Pierce of Idaho Falls, were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Sylvester Pierce. Mrs. i Overfelt remained over until Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Blain Larson, who have been absent at McGill, Nevada, for several years past, have returned to Gunnison. They expect to remain here indefinitely and are at present at the home of Mrs. Larson's parents, par-ents, Mr.' and Mrs. James Bown. when she was joined by Mr. Overfelt Over-felt and that day they left for San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. John Metcalf and Miss Melba Metcalf, who spent the . past few weeks at Provo, where Mr. Metcalf wras attending summer school, have returned to their home ; in Gunnison. ! Miss Frances Paul, instructor in : the high, school at Casper, Wyo., I Miss Lelia Paul and Miss Charlotte, , Grow of Panguitch,' were guests at ;the home of Misses' Josie Curtis and, L. S. McMonigal last Sunday.
