Referred to the labors that rest upon the Latter-day Saints; what has been done and that which is still in the future. Spoke of the labors that are being performed at the Temple in Salt Lake City. Thore is but one path, and the Savior had to respect that path, which he did in humility, but the people of that day were I hardly prepared to receive him as : their tutor, or in other words, their Savior, because they well knew bis humble birth and life. It is also the same with the Latter-da;, Saints. We are not understood, but we are doing a work that will be in the near future. Quoted the saying of the Apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Corinthians, viz: Why are we baptized for the dead? If the dead rise imt at all, why are we then baptized for the dead? etc. Spoke of the extensive labors being done in this direction. Our labors in the past ought to be incentive in-centive to us for the future, for the future is a bright one for the Latter-day Saittts. Gave an invitation invita-tion lo all who wished to go down j to Salt Lake Temple, saying he j would render them all the assist-j assist-j a nee he could. The speaker's i counsels were replete with good : instruction from beginning to end. j The choir sang an anthem: "'God is with His People." Benediction by Elder M. L. Ensign. |
