Show Injuries fatal to Centerfield Man After battling between life and death for nearly a week, Andrew B. Anderson, the well known valley former, for-mer, died at the Salina hospital Monday Mon-day at about 11:30. At the bedside of the unfortunate victim when death came, were the immediate family and many relatives. Word had been dispatched dis-patched to Centerfield and other parts of the valley where near relatives rela-tives resided early Monday morning that Mr. Anderson was sinking and that the end was near. He died peacefully peace-fully and though he had suffered severely since the injury, he passed on to the great unknown without a struggle. Mr. Anderson was fatally injured Tuesday of last week, when he fell from a load of hay and was run over by the wagon. After he was taken to the hospital for treatment lie regained his senses and related as near as he could as to how he suffered the injury. He was hauling hay and after driving his load to the main road he alighted to close the gate. In getting back on the wagon one of the supports in front gave .way and he was thrrvn to the tongue of the wagon, 'i lie horses became frightened and ran away and in some manner Anderson was thrown to the ground and it is supposed one of the wheels sk;.ck, him on the head. He suffered a sl'g1 concusion of the brain at the time. At the hospital, however, he showed evidences of getting better and great hopes were held for his recovery. Spinal meningitis developed Sunday afternoon and he began to sink and lingered until Monday morning as stated. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at the Centerfield meeting house at two o'clock. Andrew B. Anderson was born in Gunnison, June 0, 1877, and was the son of Andrew S. and Mariah Larscn Anderson. With the exceptions of a few years he spent his entire life lieie. He was one of the progressive farmers of the valley and was widely known and respected by all who kntw him. Surviving the deceased are the wife, liis mother and five daughters, Mrs. Alvin Andersen and the Misses Rosella, Elna, Ardella and Veh'.a Anderson. One brother, Sorcn P. Anderson, and two sisters, Mrs. n-tone n-tone Christenson and Mrs. II. Iv. Hansen, are left to mourn (lie untimely un-timely death. |
