Show Business Women's Club Plans Activities Following a vacation of two months, and during the warm season, the regular monthly meetings meet-ings of the Business and Professional Profes-sional Womens club of Gunnison Gunni-son were resumed last Thursday evening with a splendid banquet at the Pumpkin Shell. Immediately Immedi-ately after the fifteen members present adjourned to the Gunnison Gunni-son hotel where a lengthy business busi-ness session was held. At the banquet exquisite decorations were carried out and the splendid splen-did luncheon was immensely en- joyed by the members present. At the business session held at the hotel, Mrs. Villard, president of the Gunnison club, named heads of the various committees to serve for the ensuing year. The chairman of each committee will select assistants. The committee com-mittee heads announced are: Education, Ruby Jensen; Emblem, Em-blem, Pearl Allmendinger ; Finance, Fi-nance, Vera Norman; Health, Kathryn Hanson; Legislation, Ellen El-len Hofheins; Music, Laura Fer-re; Fer-re; Publicity, Alta Nelson; Luncheon, Romania Bardsley; Program, Berdella Edwards. , Ope of the added features of the' business session was a report io the state convention held at Aspen Grove, Provo, last month. The report was given by Orsa. Cherry, one of the delegates representing rep-resenting the local club, and a general outline of the various activities, ac-tivities, the entertainment, at tendance and royal hospitality of the members of the Provo club members. Mrs. Vada Titcomb, who recently re-cently returned from Grand Junction, entertained the members mem-bers with a brief story of her experiences ex-periences on her hike and trip to the Colorado city. Miss Laura Ferre also entertained the club members with a thrilling story of being "lost in the wilds of Bryce canyon." At the next meeting, scheduled for October, important matters are to be taken up and definite work will be iplanned for the year. Several outstanding features feat-ures along educational work and civic problems are to be taken up and discussed and a complete I proeram will be arranged. The ! activities of the club will be many ! and it will be the purpose to "keep moving." |
