There! is only one piece of e;:ou.;d, owned I ljy parties residing in Ohio, that has not yet been granted. laiwever, it is practically assured that this one part will not hold up the program and to this end arrangements are fast being brought to a close to start work on the Gunnison and Sevier county project, known as federal aid project, pro-ject, No. 57. . Berglund and William Met-calf Met-calf of this city, and William Duffin of Axtcll, named as appraisers, visited visit-ed Axtell Wednesday and went over the proposition with the property owners there. No protests whatever were registered and there is every reason to believe that the program will soon start. Hal Kerr, assistant chief engineer of the state road commission, was in - Gunnison for a brief stay yesterday morning. "Everything is in readiness for advertising for bids, excepting the fright of way," said Mr. Kerr. "I am advised that there will no opposition in going through the fields at Axtell Ax-tell and with this assurance there is every reason to believe that your program will be started soon. In fact, just as soon as the state road commission is advised that the right of way has been secured or is in process, pro-cess, then bids will be asked for. Thirty days is about all that will be required to shape matters when the right of way has been secured." Papers, acceding the right of way through the properties in the northern north-ern part of the city, were signed up yesterday, according to reports. |
