Show State Fair Offers High Cash Awards Figures just compiled by the Utah State Fair Association disclose the fact that this state's exposition offers higher cash awards in the livestock division than does the corresponding branch of any other fair of importance import-ance in the country. Specific comparison compar-ison was made between Utah's list and the list of the American Royal Livestock Show of Kansas City, an annual fair that is regarded as second in importance only to the big Chicago Chi-cago livestock show. In the swine division, Utah's first, second and third awards are $25, $15 and $10, while those of the American Royal Livestock Show run $12, $10 and $6. In the sheep division there is the same difference in the schedules. In the horse division Utah's premiums run from $5 to $10 higher in the Shire classification. In the cattle division di-vision the Kansas City classic offers higher premiums than Utah, but the latter makes up the difference in special prizes. Rules governing judging and exhibition exhi-bition in the two shows are identical. Utah's stall fees are much lower than parallel fees in other exposition centers. |
