The penalty proved severe and copious showers of tears flowed freely. However, the girls were not to be slighted and during their incarceration they had many visitors and the visitors gave them flowers and refreshments, and when they gained their liberty both declared de-clared that it is best to obey their parents and thus escape the humiliation humilia-tion and disgrace that follows disobedience. |
