Show Lions Make Merry At Dinner Meeting Twenty-eight Gunnison Lions sought their "den" at the Kozi last evening and made merry for one hour and fifteen minutes . The meeting meet-ing was in charge of Lion "Poker Tat" Arnold and with the splendid program arranged by the committee the entertainment was good, the jokes snappy and good fellowship predominated throughout. An appetizing dinner, furnished by Lion "Jelly Bean" Parr, had the desired de-sired effect and the elaborate spread tamed the Lions present sufficiently j so that "snarls and fights" were out j of the question. Miss Theresa Duggins braved the "den" and delighted those present with a splendid reading. For her efforts she was roundly applauded and was given the "roar." Lion Bisohp Swalberg was at his Tjest ' naturally so after the way he ate and delighted his fellow Lions with two splendid solos. Lion Swalberg was accompanied by Eugene Faux at the piano. The two solos, however, how-ever, did not complete Lion Swal-berg's Swal-berg's participation on the program. ' Later when he was "soaked" a dime, and rather than part with the silver piece, gave a selection in Swedish dialect. Lion Clint Edwards, the principal speaker of the evening, gave a splendid talk and eulogized the principals of Lionism. J. B. Tipton, of Macon, Mo., was a guest at the dinner, being piloted there by Lion "Irie" Overfelt. Following Fol-lowing the meeting some fifteen of the Gunnison Lions motored to Salina Sa-lina and joined the Salina Lions in a big dance, the first entertainment to be staged by the club from the sister city to the south. |
