Show Death Summons Oldest Resident Mrs. Christena Bogh, one of the oldest persons in the valley died at her home in Centerfield last Saturday morning after one day's illness. Senile Sen-ile debility is given as the result of her death. Mrs. Bogh was past her 9Ct!i birthday and had been a remarkable woman. Notwithstanding her advanced ad-vanced age she had been up and about and could see and hear very distinctly distinct-ly and had apparently been enjoying the very best of health for one of Image. Im-age. Friday she complained a little and went, to her bed and the angel of death carried her soul gently and peacefully to the other world. The deceased was a native of Denmark, Den-mark, having been born October 1;), 1828, and was the widow of Peter II. Bogh, who died some sixteen years ago. They were married in Denmark over 55 years ago and some five years . later they came to America, first settling set-tling at Ft. Green. In 1880 the family moved to Centerfield and since that time Mrs. Bogh had resided there continuously. con-tinuously. Living with Mrs. Bogh at the time of her death was her daughter, daugh-ter, Kate Bogh. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for the aged woman. wo-man. Bishop Jos. Larson of the Hamilton Ham-ilton ward conducted the services and Marlin Sorenson had charge of the singing. Mrs. A. H. Jensen, accompanied accom-panied by the choir, sang "I Have Read of a Beautiful City," following which invocation was offered by Geo. Peterson. Other selections by the choir and Mrs. Jensen were "Rest, Rest for the Weary Soul," and "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth." Bishop Larson, Brigham Jensen, C. P. Larson and Bishop Chas. Hansen were the speakers at the funeral services. ser-vices. Following the benediction by I Chas. H. Embley the remains were taken to the Gunnison cemetery for burial. Mrs. Bogh is survived by three sons, Andrew Bogh of Centerfield, and Hans and Soren Bogh of Ft. Green, and two 'daughters, Mrs. Samuel Lublin of ! Provo, and Miss Kate Bogh of Ccn- terfield. |
