Show California Stockmen Buy Chester Whites During the last week and at the end of this week three carloads of the famous Chester White hogs will have been shipped ' to California points. E. E. Paynter, who is supervising super-vising the assembling of the hogs from the various points in Southern Utah for shipment to California, states that it has been difficult to supply the greatly increased demand for this class of swine. However, Gunnison Valley, Wayne county, Millard and other points have been contributing and sufficient will have been secured to supply the three carloads. "The demand greatly exceeds the supply at this time," Mr. Paynter stated. "The company has had a number of salesmen throughout Utah, Idaho, Nevada and California, but due to the lack of faster breeding breed-ing the supply has fallen short and as a consequence some sixty-five of the salesmen have been laid off until un-til after the first of the year. Breeders Breed-ers are now planning greater service ser-vice and it is believed that by February Feb-ruary there will be a good supply from late fall and winter farrowing. Orders received during the past few-months few-months are not being filled for the reason that the supply has about exhausted. |
