Show ' fESTlUL SCHOOL. Prof. Y. M. Stewart, in the course of his lecture last week, showed up some of the benefits to Prigham City people from a central cen-tral school system. Our backwoods school system of today is Brigham's worst draw back now. This alone will keep many good families from settling here. Our present system is both expensive and non-pro gressi ye. Instead of our youths being able to step from Brigham schools. into the University they miiHt uirst gn out of town on heavy expenses, TneTely to take the preparatory course which a central school in Brigham would alford. By this means much money is taken away from our city that could be kept at home. A high school would also bring scores of students from neighboring neighbor-ing towns to Brigham, each of whom would leave an average of $1.30.00 to $200.00 a year in our city. These are only a few of the many arguments in favor of a centra school system for Brigham City. |
