Show County Woolmen Get Banner Price Gunnison and Manti woolgrowers through a transaction which was closed with an eastern concern last week, disposed of approximately 750,-000 750,-000 pounds of wool, and received 50 cents per pound, the high record price paid at any point in thel western country this year. The buyers were Hallowell, Jones & Donald, a large concern at Boston, Massachusettes. Horace Brown, of Manti, and western repi-esentative for the eastern firm, closed the deal. Representing the sellrs were June Metcalf,, for Metcalf & Sons, of this city, and Parley Madsen, Wilford Wintch, Alex Barton and John Shand ' of Manti. These gentlemen represent the largest woolgrowing interests in the southern part of the country and the selling of the wool is regarded as a mightly clever transaction. In addition ad-dition to getting the high record price an advance of $1 per fleece for 75,000 j fleeces was made to the sellers. The balance of the payments are to be made at time of delivery following the! spring wool clip. The quality of the wool in the transaction trans-action is regarded as some of the best in this sesction, being rated as extra fine and far above the common clips, j |
