Show All-Stars Winners. An aggregation of the best players play-ers from the Manti, Moroni, Mt. Pleasant and Ephraim ball teams, made it warm for the Gunnison .Kingsv all home boys, in a match game of ball at the Gunnison diamond dia-mond last Sunday afternoon. The combination of ballists won out by a small margin only, winning by a score of S to 5. Notwithstanding the fact that Pace, pitching for the Kings, was out of form, having an injured arm, the Kings made the All-Stars 'wiggle" to "get over." The slugging slug-ging of the visitors was the undoing of the locals and when they found the ball it meant something, usually. Pace, however, only allowed scattering scatter-ing hits, thus avoiding a higher score for the combination of players. In the seventh inning, Lester Fred-l'ickson, Fred-l'ickson, took Pace's place and after this time only one score was made by the visitors. Erickson, of Ephraim, Eph-raim, was on the mound for the al.l-(jtars, al.l-(jtars, and his work was wonderful. Daunt Sanders, however, found him for a home-run, but unfortunately every sack around the circuit was vacant. Considering the fact that the Kings went up against the cream of four of the strong teams in the league, the defeat is no disgrace and the outcome was regarded as a creditable showing. |
