Show Townsman Turns Down Big Fortune Anthony Madsen, member of the city council, manager for the C. W. & M. Co., a,t Gunnison , and general good fellow, has refused to accept a one-thiri interest in $360000. It, is not, however, that Tony could not use the money, but the' invitation invita-tion is tinged with "bunk" propositions, propo-sitions, and fearful that he might land where the "other man" is, he has refused to be a party in recovering recover-ing the immense amount of wealth. Mr. 'Madsen only recently received a letter from Madrid, Spain, the address ad-dress on the envelope bearing "Anthony "An-thony Madsen, Carriage Maker, Axtell, Ax-tell, Utah." The letter is as follows: "27-12-1920. "Dear Sir "Being imprisoned here by bankruptcy, bank-ruptcy, I beg your aid to recover a sum of $300,000 I have in America, being necessary to come here to raise the services of my baggage, paying 'to the Registrar of the Court the expenses of my ..trial and recovering my portmanteau containing a secret pocket where! have .'hidden one check for that sum. By reward -I offer you the third part, viz: $120-000. $120-000. ' "I must receive your answer in the prison but you must send - a cablegram cable-gram to a person of my confidence who will deliver it to me.
