Show Accident Victim Buried at Grace Lnvoor Voorhees, who with hit-wife hit-wife and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whitloek of Axtell, were called to Grace, Idaho, last week on account of the accidental accident-al killing of Fred Jensen, have returned re-turned from the north. Mr. Voorhees, Voor-hees, who" received the message announcing an-nouncing the death, states that there was an error in the name and that it. was Fred Jensen insead of Glenn Jensen, as annuonccd in last week's paper, that was killed. The error was made, it is claimed, in transmitting trans-mitting the telegram. Mr. Voorhees, in giving the report of the death of Fred Jensen, said that four boys, includnig , Fred, had been out shooting during Sundsy morning. Two of the boys had .22 rifles while- Grover Chatterson carried car-ried a shote-ut. The shot p-nn fnile.1 to work and when near the Chatter-son Chatter-son home and some two miles from the Jensen home, young Chatterson was working with the gun in an endeavor en-deavor to make it work. Suddenly the gun went off, and Fred Jensen, who was standing nearby received the charge in the head and just back of the left ear. Death was instantaneous. in-stantaneous. The accident happened Sunday after loon, October 15. Grief stricken the companions of Fred gave the' alarm of the 'accident and the body was hurried to the grief ;'stricken parents, who lived some two miles away. The companions who were with : Cha tterson, gave the story of the ac-! ac-! cident and it was shown that is was purely accidental and young Chatter-son, Chatter-son, a close and intimate friend of Jensen, was exonerated, j Fred Jensen was 16 years of age and was well known here, being a native of the Gunnison Valley. Ho ; attended the public schools of this ; city before going to Idaho with his i parents. He was an exceptionally bright young man and was a favor- ite with all who knew him. ! Funeral services were held Ht i Grace on Wednesday of last week : and they were largely attended. In i addition to a splendid sermon and appropriate music, many beaut.il lI ' floral offerings were made by sorrowing sorrow-ing friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jensen, parents of the boy who was killed, have hosts of warm friends and relatives here who will mourn with them in thei,' hour of grief. |
