Show City Licenses Are Elevated Those who would conduct business in Gunnison will have to meet the new license schedule that was adopted adopt-ed at the special meeting of the city council last Saturday evening. The, entire schedule was remodeled and as a rule most of the licenses that have been in vogue were materially raised and the committee included many who had been getting by wilh-out wilh-out paying any license whatever. Through the revision the city's coffer cof-fer will he increased nearly $400 annually. an-nually. The resignation of R. C. Swalberg, who has removed to Marysvale, was recoived, read ami accepted. The matter of filling the vacancy was deferred de-ferred until the next regular meeting. meet-ing. Mr. Swalberg's resignation, as presented to the council, is as follows: fol-lows: Marysvale, Utah. Mar. 10. 1920. To the Honorable Mayor and City Couucilmen of Gunnison. Utah. Gentlemen : Having acquired interests near Marysvale. in Piute county, and being be-ing about to remove from Gunnison. 1 hereby tender my resignation as City Councilman in and for said city, the same to take effect at your earliest earli-est convenience. I desire to express to you my appreciation ap-preciation of your uniform kindness and courtesy while we labored together, to-gether, and my sincere good wishes for the welfare of each of you and yours, and of Gunnison City, through the coming years. Yours truly. R. C. SWALBERG. Anthon Yepson was granted permission per-mission of filling the old flood ditch just west of the city park and just in front of the Yepson home. The ditch is out of use and it was proven to he a breeder of mosquitoes during the summer mouths. |
