Show Services Held For Erastus Sorenson Erastus S. Sorenson, one of the best known and prominent farmers ! of the Gunnison valley, died at his j homo at Centerfield last Friday morning following an illness of but thirty-six hours. Mr. Sorenson had been ailing somewhat for about three weeks and late Wednesday evening he was stricken with influenza which rapidly developed into pneumonia, and he passed away Friday morning. Impressive funeral services were held at the home Sundav afternoon at 3:30. On account of the preva at 3:30. On account of the prevalence preva-lence of the influenza the services were held in the open air. Many friends gathered to pay the last respects re-spects to the deceased. A. C. Fjeld-sted Fjeld-sted and C. P. Larson gave addresses at the services and both eulogized the .splendid character and traits of Mr. Sorenson. Several songs wore sung by a selected choir, and following follow-ing the brief services the remains were taken to the Centerfield cemetery ceme-tery for final interment. Erastus (Sorenson was bora at Scipio and was 52 years old at the time of his death. Some ten years ago he was stricken with paralysis, the result of lead poisoning. While he was able to be about and do a little work, he has never been strong, and suffered much from the affliction. afflic-tion. Surviving the deceased are the wife, Mrs. Zoe Sorenson, two daughters, daugh-ters, Elda and Fannie Sorenson, and five sons, Mayo, Alva, LaMar, Boyd and Ivan Sorenson. |
