Show 'PUBLIC SCHOOL PLAYGROUND APPARATUS. To the Public. Are we to be abreast with the move of securing playground apparatus appa-ratus for the physical development of our boys and girls? Other cities of cur district have supplied their playgrounds with some or with very nearly a complete equipment equip-ment by means of subscription on the part of students and citizens. This being a fact the school board feel it would be wrong to buy Gunnison's playground apparatus. I believe Gunnison people are willing to do as much as any other city in this district dis-trict and would not expect the board to assist under these condition.:?.. In the past some few pieces of apparatus, ap-paratus, such as basket ball, volley balls and baseballs, have been ooUght, but this has not been successful suc-cessful because we haven't had a sufficient suf-ficient equipment to supply all the pupils. In this drive we aim to se-aure se-aure sufficient apparatus to supply all and then those who subscribe .will not feel that they are not getting any benefits from their money expended in this cause. We now have $73.76 .which has been secured by means of entertainments entertain-ments and pupils' subscriptions. JOHN E. METCALP, Principal Public School. |
