Show Christmas Spirit Invades Gunnison With balmy weather, mindful of I spring and the throngs of Gunnison cheerful and happy, Christmas passed pass-ed quietly and proved joyful at all the homes of the eity. There was no set program for the day excepting the program that was given by the Sunday school of the Hamilton ward. The Christmas programs generally were given last Sunday and the preceding pre-ceding evenings. Dinner parties, some of which were elaborate, while others were strictly family affairs, proved to be the big enjoyment of the day. King turkey, as a rule, was the piece de resistance and coupled with a splendid array of other holiday delicacies to be found on the local markets, Christmas was truly spent in a day of feasting and merry making. With the breaking of dawn and just as Old Sol was making his appearance appear-ance at the eastern horizon, it was a signal that the day of days had arrived. Little hearts with anticipation, anticipa-tion, awakened from dreams of izz.z ' old Santa, raced to where the stocking stock-ing had ben securely fastened. Jo in every home prevailed because O 1 Santa had a generous heart and provided pro-vided liberally for all good children. Dancing and picture shows prov-d the drawing cards during the evenin and altogether Christmas day in Gunnison Gun-nison for 1923 will go down as one of the most joyful in the history of the city. |
