Show Fayette News (Special Correspondence.) Fayette, Ap.il C. The marriage of Norval Mellor, one of the prominent promi-nent young men of Fayette, and Missj Leah Wintch, solemuized at the; .Manti temple on Wednesday or last I week, proved the social eveut of the j season. Both the bride and groom j are well known in Sanpete county I and they have hosts of friends who will join in wishing iheni happiness and prosperity. Wednesday evening, following the marriage ceremony i the bride and groom were tendered i an elaborate wedding supper by Mr. and Mrs. James Mellor, grandparents j to Norval Mellor. Fully sixty guests were present and enjoyed the hospitality hospi-tality of the host and hostess. The; banquet room was most artistically decorated, the red and white scheme being cleverly carried out. Satin ribbons rib-bons were extended from the chandelier chande-lier to the wedding cake forming the i centerpiece. Place cards were hearts pierced with an arrow. Thursday night the bride and groom were tendered ten-dered a shower at the amusement hall. Mr. and Mrs. Mellor were the recipients of many beautiful and use-ful use-ful presents from admiring friends. Mr. and Mrs.'J. S. Peterson and family fam-ily from Gunnison were among the outside guests at the Thursday night shower. Some six weeks ago Glen Moss and Mrs. Ruth Hackett, instructors in the public schools of Fayette, gave their friends the slip and were quietly married. mar-ried. The facts just recently became known and Mr. and Mrs. Moss were tendered a shower with Mr. and Mrs. Mellor. Mrs. Rhoda Jackson of Ephraim was a visitor with relatives in Fayette Fay-ette last week. Miss Fontell Peterson of Glenwood is the .house guest of Miss Flossie Mellor. The play, "Arizona Cowboy," was cleverly staged here Wednesday and-Saturday and-Saturday nights to appreciative audiences. aud-iences. The proceeds are to be used in building a tennis court for the school grounds. Mrs. Oscar Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Vernal Roper were Gunnison visitors ; last Friday. Harry Reid and family and Will and Ray Bartholomew and families have moved to the "fiats" for the summer. The rapid raise of water in the big reservoir has made the road to Dover almost impassable. Workmen are busy repairing the roads in an effort to keep them open. Burnice, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hill, is slowly recovering from a severe attack of the "flu." Mrs. Archie Mellor, wife of Bishop Mellor, is still confined to her bed at her home in Fayette. Miss Ella Bown spent the latter part of last week visiting relatives and attending the high school dedicatory dedi-catory exercises at Gunnison. Mrs. Orley Anderson was stricken with accute appendicitis Tuesday morning of this week. Her condition was regarded as serious for a while but her many friends will be glad to know- that she is somewhat better. |
