Show for the most skilled players were awarded to Mrs. C. N. Jensen and Niel Sorensrn. Word just lately recived from Mrs. Libby Peterson by friends in Gunnison, is to the effect that she and her daughter. Miss Virginia Peterson, are now permanently perm-anently located at Stockton. Mrs. Peterson and her daughter have been touring California for several months past and report they are delighted with the Pacific coast. Local News Frank Christensen left for Salt Lake City last Sunday morning. Frank will enter the University for special work. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Frandsen. who spent the holidays with friends and relatives rel-atives at Mt. Pleasant, have returned to their home at Westview. Ernest Halverson, accompanied by his wife and children, has returned from Provo. The Halversons were the guests of relatives at Christmas time. Mrs. O. M. Jensen and children, of Monroe, are among the latest arrivals in Gunnison. They will make their home here with Mr. Jensen, an employe of the Peterson Meat & Grocery Co. L. F. Peterson, of Garland, is in the city for a brief visit with his wife, Mrs. Dorris Peterson. He reports the section north as prosperous and predicts better times duriug the coming season. Miss Daveda Olsen, who spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Olsen in Gunnison, returned Tuesday to again resume her studies at the Snow Normal academy at Ephraim. Mrs. Leslie Kidman, and daughter, M iss Leona Kidman, are the guests of Mrs Kidman's mother, Mrs. J. C. Clyde at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Kidman expects to return to Gunnison the middle of the coming week. Mildred Bartholomew, a student of the Snow Normal college at Ephraim, returned to the college town Tuesday. She spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Bartholomew at Fayette. Peter K.Stubbs, a student of the Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, was here for the holidays hol-idays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Stubbs. Peter is taking a special course, included in which is show card writing and ad writing. Mrs. Jule Erickson was hostess to a family New Years dinner party last Sunday afternoon at 3 o'elock. Covers were laid for eighteen and following dinner a pleasant time was enjoyed in music and a social time. Mrs. H. W. Cherry was hostess at a "watch party" last Saturday evening. Dinner was served at 7 o'clock, covers being laid for ten. Following the dinner Progressive Five Hundred was played until the announcement of the New Year. Gladys Basow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Basow, underwent an operation oper-ation for appendicitis at Salt Lake last Saturday morning. The operation was successfull and the little girl will be able to return to her home in Gunnison i n a week or ten days. Mr. and Mrs, Julius Duggins delightfully delight-fully entertained the "500" card club at their home Wednesday evening. Following the usual card session delicious delic-ious refreshments were served.
