Show Larson Victor In School Election .Joseph A. Larson, who regularly filed his nomination for the office as a candidate of the board of education for the South Sanpete school district, had an easy victory at yesterda-. 's election. Larson's plurality was 1 -il votes and his total for the district, which includes Gunnison and F; y-rtte, y-rtte, was 23!). J. M. Knighton, whese name was written in on the ballo't, received a total of 53 votes. G. M. Bartholomew, a write-in candidate from Fayette received three votes. For a school election the activity was quite spirited and the interest shown was far above normal. At the recent state election some 490 votes were east and yesterday 286 voters turned out and supported their favorite. favor-ite. Bartholomew S In the Mayfield-Sterling district, where a three-cornered fight wts waged, John Anderson of Sterling came out victor, his vote being ID4 as against 81 for Hyrum Olsen and 70 for J. N. Christiansen, present incumbent. in-cumbent. Christiansen and Olsen were the candidates from Mayfie'id and as a consequence the voting was evenly divided. Olsen, however, beat his opponent, by 11 votes. Sterling went solid for its candidate. |
