Show The Concert Did Well The concert given in the Casino theatre Monday evening under the auspices of Gunnison ward Sunday school proved a decided success. The house was filled almost to capacity and the entertainment highly praised. Every number was afforded a recall except the school band, the one most deserving such distinction. The boys' chorus and that of the girls' were both greeted with well merited applauses. Indeed the audience was exceptionally recceptive at each stage of the program and seemed espeeially pleased with the unexpected make-up and humor introduced by Messrs. R. C. Swalberg and LaBarth F'jedsted for their cornet and trombone duet. Professor E'jeldsted is to be congratulated congrat-ulated for the success he s ored as director, di-rector, and the Sunday school officers for their splendid work incident to promote the concert. The affair cleared, after paying all expenses, the neat sum of $36.50. The girls sold tickets for $46.00, Miss Elma El-ma Fjeldsted taking first prize for selling 71 and Miss Lillie Johnson second prize for 35. A dollar box of candy went to Elma and a fifty cent one to Lilly. Door reciepts brought in $29.70, including $12.70 at matinee. |
