Show The Origin of "Filibuster." What is the origin of the word "filibuster?" "fili-buster?" Charlevoix and others derive de-rive it from the occupation of a cruiser cruis-er in a "filibote," or "Vly-bote," first used on the River Yly, in Holland. Another An-other authority tells us that it was given to the followers of Dominique de Courgucs. who sailed from Finis-terre, Finis-terre, or Finihustcr, in France, ou the famous expedition against Fort Caroline Caro-line in 1507.
