Spoke of labors of the saints in the early settlement of these valleys. We are a blessed people. At the present pres-ent time there are some of the young who do not realize what their fathers and mothers endured in the pioneer days. Elder Peter Baird spoke next. Felt the force of the statements of those of our early settlers who had put up with a good many trials. Their experience was of importance lo all. Dwelt at length on the confidence con-fidence we should have in our fathers and mothers, who have kd us in the ways of success as far as the knowledge of the Gospel is concerned; and also to the land of peace and plenty. Showed the duty of prayer, which is something all of the Latter-day Saints should attend to daily. j Elder John B. McMaster was : then called on to speak. Felt a J confidence in the Lord to provide and sustain his saints and bless us abundantly. Referred to the unrest that now exists out in the world, and thought it was caused by the division of opinion manifest on all hands. Spoke of experience in his youth; yet they were confident that the Lord would bring us out all right in the end. Spoke on the care that parents should take in guiding the feet of the youth of Zion. Elder W. L. Watkins made a f-jv closing remarks. Referred to the temptations that this people have had to put up with, but out of all the Lord has preserved us as a people, and we should appreciate his goodness and listen to the counsels coun-sels of the priesthood that is appointed ap-pointed to teach us our duties.
