ALLIES. Report That Atlantic' Flee May Be Sent to Europe. Washington. A. report i. current in the capitol that the Atlantic ' battleship battle-ship fleet may be. sent to , Europe to aid the allies. Secretary aniels refuses re-fuses to discuss the report. Mr. Daniels has recced from Admiral Ad-miral Mayo a complete outline of the situation in Europe' as it affects the shipping problem of the war. He re-, ceived such information as has reached the British and French admiralties of the situation within Germany, both military and naval,; in relation to a possible naval offen&ive attempt by the Germans. From unquestioned sources in the navy department the information is obtained that an offensive by the German Ger-man fleet is by no means a distant possibility. It was indicated ,that the report that the Atlantic fleet might go to Europe was due to this report. It is believed autocracy is about to make a desperate effort to cut the iron ring which keeps German commerce com-merce off the high seas. |
