Show WILL CARE FOR OUR OWN. Government Insurance Policy for Its Soldiers and Sailors. Washington. Samples of the insurance insur-ance policy which the government will write for its soldiers and sailors were made public October 14 by the war risk insurance bureau of the treasury , department. Details of the policy disclose that risks will be written upon the lives of men and women between the ages of 15 and 65 in all branches of the army, navy, marine corps, coast guard, naval reserve, national naval volunteers, volun-teers, nurses and "any other branches of the United States service serving with the army and navy." Ann'JUnce-ment Ann'JUnce-ment was made also, that "rt tes at ages higher or lower will be given upon request." Premiums, computed on a monthly basis, vary between 63 cents per $1000 at age 15 to ,$3.25 per thousand at age G5. Between 21 and 31 years, the following fol-lowing monthly premiums will be charged per $1000 of insurance "(the limit being $10,000) : Twenty-one to 23, inclusive, Go cents; 24 to 25, 66 cents; 26 and 27, 67 cents; 28, 68 cents; 29 and 30, 69 cents ; 31, 70 cents. During periods of total disability, the insurance will be paid, not in one lump sum, but monthly for twenty years, should the disability continue for that period. Sould death occur before be-fore twenty years, the remainder of the policy will be paid at once to the beneficiary. At the age of 25, the monthy installment for the twenty-year twenty-year period would be $5.75 per $1000 of insurance. Provision is made for family allowances, allow-ances, for wounded and cripples, for compensation in case of death or injury in-jury without cost and for insurance at very small cost. In cases of partial disability the amount of compensation is determined by a schedule to be based upon the extent ex-tent of the impairment of earning capacity. ca-pacity. Total disability payments are to be increased above the figures named in the policy where the insured has dependencies. "Where the injury or disease is caused by the Wilful misconduct of the man," the policy reads, "compensation will not be paid." The policies will be issued in multiples mul-tiples of $500, no policy, however, to be less than $1000. |
