Show Knew Money by Onion Smell. That an ill wind, even an onion smell, blows somebody good was shown In police court, Brooklyn, by Simon Silverman, an onion peddler. Silverman missed his roll of $32. A woman told him she had just passed two men, one of whom was saying: i "You found it ; you keep it." The peddler called a policeman, who took the pair to court. On one $19 In bills was found. The policeman asked Silverman if he could identify hl money. "Don't give them to me, Mr. Policeman," Police-man," exclaimed the peddler.. "It they smell of onions they're mine." The onion odor convinced the cop. Silverman got the money nnd the prisoner pris-oner was held. |
