Show LOCAL ECHOES. The T. B. club was pleasantly entertained en-tertained Tuesday evening by Miss Jessie Peterson. LeoN. Gledhill, foreman of the local telephone company has spent the week as a delegate to the camp of the M. W. of A. held Wednesday at Tremont where a delegation to the head camp at Chicago next month was chosen among the many matters of interest considered. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. McMillen wish here to extend their heart-felt thanks to the many friends who so greatly assisted them in their sad bereavement, bereave-ment, the loss of their darling daugh- ter, Eunice; also to those who spoke such comforting words at the funeral and for the many beautiful flowers. Alma C. Bartholomew after a couple cou-ple of weeks home from the desert left yesterday in charge of the Met-calf Met-calf sheep herd for their summer grazing on the east mountains. Mr. Bartholomew states that despite the long severe winter his flocks sustained sustain-ed no serious loss. The Highs report giving an appropriate appro-priate program followed by refreshments refresh-ments Tuesday afternoon in honor of Mina Beauregard, a volunteer from their ranks. His two associate recruits re-cruits were also present. It is claimed claim-ed that eleven out of the seventeen enlistments from this valley have been enrolled in the high school. Gilbert L. Fjeldsted of Centerfield, who enlisted while at school in Provo writes from Fort Winfleld Scott, California, that he is with the 4th Company there training for a first-class first-class gunner. He wants The Gazette mailed to him there during a monih's stay and asks for the bill. We shall esteem it a privlege however to send Mr. Fjeldsted the paper gratis. ' The Social Circle club met Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon at the home of Mrs. John E. Metcalf the following members mem-bers present: Mrs. J . W. Jones, Mrs J . M. Knighton, Mrs. A. M. Christen-son, Christen-son, Mrs. Bay B. Metcalf, Mrs. Daunt Sanders, Mrs. B. C. Swalberg, Mrs. C. B. Jensen, Mrs. James Bo wn and Mrs T. M. Kearns. Mrs. William Metcalf and Mrs. William Dack were special guests at this meeting and luncheon. |
