Show Hans Jensen Answers Call Funeral was held from the meeting house last Sunday afternoon for Hans Jensen, who passed to the beyond on the evening of September 10th. Elders El-ders John Larson and John A New-reen New-reen were the speakers and appropriate appropri-ate singing was furnished by the ward choir, assisted by Mrs. Emiiy L. Knighton and conducted by R. C. Swalberg. The services were conducted con-ducted by Joseph A. Larson of the bishopric. Hans Jensen was born in Denmark on October 31, 1852. He emigrated to Utah when a boy of 19 and has resided resid-ed in Gunnison ever since until his death. Besides the widow he leaves 3 grown children, namely J. Rasmus Jensen, Mrs. Amasa Kenney and Mrs. Joshua Lewis, all of this city. Deceased led a quiet but upright life, respected for his honesty and industrious qualities. He was identified iden-tified with the Mormon faith, belong-to belong-to the quorum of high priests. His health had been poorly a' number of years and he was taken suddenly by an attack of heart trouble, aged nearly 63 years. |
