Show HIGH SCHOOL. (By Wendell Perkins.) Citizens of Gunnison valley, are you putting forth every effort possible to enlarge and build up our school? Are you supporting it by sending your share of students? Stop; consider w hat an institution such as a large and prospering high school will mean to this valley. But every one must work in order to make it so. Our registration is no tv nearing eighty, so this Is just the time to make it a little higher. In doing so we will be in a position to demand a fourth teacher and thereby make our school arise another step toward the pinnacle of success which we are striving to reach. Is there any reason why this cannot be done? This matter deserves de-serves time for thought in the mind uf every enterprising and progressive citizen of the valley. The literary club is now organized and its first meeting will be held October 29. The following officers have been elected: Wendell Perkins, president; Lucile Sorenson. vice president; pres-ident; Thelraa Hunt, secretary-treasurer; Mary Jensen, Margaret Weiser, Ruby Jensen, program committee. The first program will be: Music, Etta Et-ta Jepson; recitation, Zella Sorenson; song, Minerva Jensen; Story, Ethel Chr'stensen; music, Nora Mace; current cur-rent events, Kenneth Sorenson. A debating and rule of order cl ub has jjeen organized under the instruction of Principal Ricks. The first meeting meet-ing will be held Saturday evening. ' The students now have apparatus for volley ball and teams will soon be Organized for that exercise. The student body lias been reorganized re-organized with much spirit and enthusiasm. en-thusiasm. Two of our last year's of-itours of-itours -yere re-elected, namely, Lester Metcalf as president and Zella Sorenson Soren-son as vice president. The secretary is Vebta Pierce and the treasurer Eva Jensen. The executive commiitee consists of Kenneth Sorenson, Ileber jjeusen, Dora Beck and Lucile Soren-! Soren-! on. |
