Show HIGH SCHOOL. Last Monday was a red letter day fur the students, when Peterson's new hull was thrown open for gymnasium gym-nasium practice, the boys class meeting meet-ing at close of school and the girls at four o'clock. The work was taken up with an enthusiasm that augured well for the benefit and Interest of the school work We have several stiff necks and I aching Joints from the unaccustomed exercise, but these we soon hope to : eliminate. For the girls, In-door baseball, bask-ball, bask-ball, volley ball, dancing and Swedish Swed-ish gymnastics will be featured. Every effort is being made for the growth and development of our library. li-brary. A new set of novels arrived Wednesday, making one complete shelf of books. Besides novels, plays, poetry and essays we have some reference ref-erence books on their way. The books which arrived Wednesday are Aid-j rich's '-Bad Boy," "The Light That Failed," "Hay Off," Hugh' Wynne," "Richard Carvel," : "Tom Sawyer," "March Chaud" and j "Cloister and the Hearth," representing repres-enting Charles Read, Kipling, Churchill, Mark Twain, Thomas Kelson Kel-son Page and Parkman. j Saturday evening the student body give a "misfit" party at the high l school building. In charge of the affair are Miss Mace, Miss Lnndeberg and Mr. Metcalf. A rare treat and something very unusual is promised all who attend. Night school convened Tuesday, with a fairly good attendance. Classes Class-es in history, English and animal husbandry were held. A large attendance at-tendance is urged for the next meeting. meet-ing. Tuition is free. Superintendent Reid visited the high school Wednesday. |
