Show EXECUTIVE LOCKED OUT. Governor Hunt of Arizona Refuses to Give Up Office. Phoenix, Ariz. Interest in the efforts ef-forts of G. W. P. Hunt, Democratic claimant to the office of governor of Arizona, to prevent occupancy of the office of Thomas E. Campbell Republican, Repub-lican, who was formally inaugurated Monday, centers in the probable legal steps expected to follow. An armed deputy sheriff, acting, he said, on the authority of Leroy Ladd, Hunt's private secretary, prevented Campbell from occupying the governor's gov-ernor's office. A suggestion by Campbell Camp-bell adherents that the doors be broken down provoked cheers from the crowd which witnessed the inauguration, inau-guration, but Campbell' counselled the employment of orderly means and the crowd dispersed quietly. |
