Show CENTERFIELD Jan. 7 Funeral for BritaC. Niel- son was held from the meetinghouse Sunday last at half past twelve , noon. Beautiful singing was rendered. The speakers were Elders J ohn Larson and Carl A. Swalberg of Gunnison and Bishop A. C. Fjeldsted. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her departed husband, in the cemetery at Gunnison. Death claimed Mrs. Niel-., son on Decmber 31, caused from old age and an attack of lagrippe. Deceased was born in:Sweden 72 years ago, where she married Gustaf Nielson in 1871. Eight years later she became a convert of the Mormon faith, when she emigrated to Utah, first settling in Gunnison' and after ward here in Centerfield. She leaves five grown children, among the number num-ber Mrs. J. E. Olson of this place, who devoted unstinted ministering care at her home through her mother's last illness. It is the desire of Mr. and Mrs. Olson Ol-son to express in these columns their appreciation for the kindness bestow-by bestow-by the many friends during .the illness ill-ness of Mrs. Nielson and in their bereavement. be-reavement. Born to the wife of Wiliard Jensen, December 27, twins, a boy and a girl. Bom to the wife of Glenn Tooth, December 29, a girl. Basketball games are now on in good shape. On the 30th, Centerfield won over Redmond 27 to 16, and on the first defeated Salina, 30 to 15. Later, Redmond on their home floor put it over Centerfield, 31 to 29. Le-van Le-van plays the local team here tomorrow. tomor-row. Next Wednesday will be an interesting in-teresting game between heavy and light weights chosen from novices in basketball art. A dance will follow, lady partners being selected accord-j accord-j ing Lo weight, at a half cent per pound. The proceeds will be applied toward assisting the old folks committee com-mittee in their current armual. |
