Show PAY TRIBUTE TO THE DEAD Fitting exercises were held in Gunnison Gun-nison Decoration Day; notwithstand' ing the fact that the morning broke Willi stormy weather. The program that had been mapped out was somewhat some-what disarranged on account of the elements. About 11 o'clock it ceased raining and the Gunnison City bar:' appeared on the streets and rendered render-ed several selections appropriate for the occasion, and this, on account of the inclement weather, ended the morning exercises. In the afternoon great crowds gathered at the cemetery and duo homage was paid those gone before, with decoration.? of beautiful floral offerings. It had also been planned to have all bring rakes and Implements Imple-ments and assist in cleaning and beautifying the cemetery grounds. Some responded and considerable improvement im-provement was made. During the work the city band played several selections appropriate for the day. There were no speeches and the pro- I gram in general was not what had been expected and which was prevented pre-vented on account of the rain. |
