Show LOCAL ECHOES. Peace Sunday this year will be made the occasion for a special program pro-gram by the Mutuals v Martin Peterson, Jr., this week bought out the Perkins' grocery store. Lund, Apostle Heber J. Grant and President Seymour B. Young. The Florae Economics association of this city was well represented at the convention of women's clubs held in Mt. Pleasant last Saturday. The purpose of the meeting was to effect an affiliation with the various clubs now organized in Sanpete and Sevier counties for amalgamation with the state organisation. The proposed organization was deferred until later. The delegates were royally banqueted by the ladies of Mt. Pleasant. Gunnison seems to be on the eve of a genuine mining boom, if reports are j taken for a criterion. Should the ''it i looks good to me'' receive encourage-1 ment from returns on assays sent to Sew York we may look for an influx of mining experts to this place. The vicinity is said to be rich in potash and other valuable deposits, with a sprinkling of radium. Some of our local men are staking claims and are enthusiastic over the prospects they ! have secured. A Mr. Clawson and : others are here from Salt Lake and ! they predict a mining boom for Gunnison Gun-nison very shortly. Let it come. i |
