Show Clean-up Was Success. Gunnison has not had such a clean up for years as that given last Saturday Satur-day in response to the call made by the city clean up committees, acting under authority of the city. Not every one responded, of course; they couldn't, becausa of pressing attention at-tention to farm work and other calls. But there were enough of men and teams out to make mighty scarce the garbage and litter about town. If only the work started so well is kept up a few weeks Gunnison can at least claim merit from a sanitary standpoint. stand-point. But we need to do more beautify. A lot of fences could be made much nicer by a little repair. A lot of painting is wanted to brighten up the place. Buildings partly abandoned like the old Co-op and R. S. store-should store-should be put in shape so they are not an eye-sore in the town. At any rate let's keep the streets clean and insist on vacant lots being kept from serving as dumping ground for unsightly garbage piles, especially especial-ly in the main part of town. Now we have started, why not keep in view the making of a cleaner and better Gunnison. Are you swatting the fly? |
