Show Muzzle Your Dogs. An order issued Fsbruary 19 by Dr-T. Dr-T. B. Beatty, secretary of the state health board is to the effect that all owners of dogs within the area south of and including Ephralm in Sanpete county, shall confine closely or muzzle muz-zle all such dogs so effectually as to prevent biting for a period of 71 days, beginning February 19 and ending May 1. T. J. Morley, county clerk, In a letter let-ter to the local officers points out their duty in the matter as being to carry out the provisions of the quarantine quar-antine as provided in section 31 session ses-sion laws of Utah, 1917, which reads: "It shall be the duty of all peace officers and boards of health to carry out the provisions of this Act. During Dur-ing the period of which any quarantine quaran-tine order is in force all peace officers are empowered to kill or in their discretion dis-cretion to capture and hold for further fur-ther action by the state board of health or its representatives all animals ani-mals in a quarantine area, found on public highways, lands and streets, or not held in restraint on private premises prem-ises as specified in this Act." |
