Show BOOZE CONFISCATED. County Sheriff Burns, armed with a search and seizure warrant, raided the drug store conducted by Patrick G. Henry in tills city last Tuesday afternoon and confiscated about fifty gallons of whiskey, the contents of a 20-gallon keg, 200 pint bottles, and a few demijohns. Mr. Ilenry must have imagined that the health of this cornmunifty was going to be mighty poor and that some mighty big prescriptions would be called for, according to the size of stock in liquor he was carrying. It had been suspected for a long time and was at the tongue's end of nearly every one in the community that "bootlegglug" was a part In stock with this drug store. The city attorney had said it could and should be detected, and accordingly accomplished accom-plished it principally by himself. The outcome of the raid will be watched with interest. The sheriff did the seizure act during the course of the trial of Henry and Mercer that afternoon after-noon in the justice's court. I |
