Show LOCAL ECHOES. Andreas Olson of Ephralm was a Uunnison visitor Tuesday. Mrs N. C. Sorenson returned home Friday from a visit to Salt Lake and i Provo, I Dr. Bullock and wife left last week and will spend a short time at the Pacific coast expositions. Jack Jones took a week off from his bank work to enjoy an out at Salt Lake, returning Sunday. Miss Carrie Anderson, clerk at the Co-op returned last Friday from spending a vacation in Manti and up Twelve-mile canyon. Attorney Woolley of Manti was a Gunnison visitor accompanied by his family Tuesday. A baby girl was prematurely born to Mr. and Mrs. James Rasmussen last Sunday. The child survived only on-ly until Monday and was buried in the local cemetery. The Primary association held a social hour Tuesday afternoon, attended atten-ded by about 115 children. Delicious ice cream and cake was sei ved to all present and a splendid time had.' J. M. Knighton of the school board is in Salt Lake City selecting supplies for the schools. The Washington school building has been given some painting and carpenter repair to the interior in readiness for school opening. A. L. Toone of the state bureau of statistics paid us a pleasant call Monday. Mon-day. Mr. Toone stated that he found quite an improvement on this trip of inspection and little cause for complaint com-plaint came up in any of towns he visited. Included among the list of petit jurors to serve at the ensuing term of the district court commencing September Sep-tember 13 are Charles. O.. Keeler and H. M. Childs of Gunnison, Lauritz M. Larson of Centerfield, Fred J, Christiansen, Jr. of Mayfield and Albert Al-bert Anderson of Sterling. The j ury will appear September 20th at 2 p. m. It looked good to see the delegation of Sevier county farmers pass thru our town Monday in a long train of automobiles. The company we were told would be gone about ten days visiting Logan and intermediate places. It is an observation trip from which Sevier county will undoubtedly un-doubtedly derive a lot of good. John W. Nielson of Centerfield was arraigned before the justice of the peace there last week on the. charge of interfering with an arrest. He refused to plead and a hearing was set for yesterday. However, Fielson appeared of his own volition Monday and pleaded guilty. Justice Beck imposed a fine of 8)100 and Kisison has appealed. |
