Show SEW RICE TRICK. Tnlk of Itullclliie One nt I lie Foot of the. Lane. There is talk among our sports of purchasing the Rosenbatim held at the end of the lane west of town and building a line fast track; one for horses and an inside track for bicycles. The location is a good one and the ground is said to he unsurpassed for track purposes. If our lacing fraternity would unite on some one track and make that a good one and keep it constantly in good condition, it would be far better than having iialfadozeu unfinished un-finished tracks around the town. One of the greatest reasons why the other tracks are unsatisfactory is because they are built on "dead" ground. A little use makes them almost as solid as pavement. There should be a certain amount of moisture in the ground, giving a slight springy, life-like aspect to the track. Heretofore these tracks have been owned by individuals indi-viduals who did not keep them repaired. re-paired. A race course should be owned by a company whose special work and interest should be keeping keep-ing the track in good shape and getting up racing meets. |
