Show MANTUA MATTERS. A Newsy Letter About Sunday Schools, Missionaries and Marriages. Editor Bum.iou: As it is some time since any reports re-ports of our town have been given through your columns. a fuw words at this time may not be out of place. 1 do not think it saying an untruth un-truth by stating that Tub Buoi.ioit is a welcome guest to every household house-hold here every week. Wo are trying lo keep pace with the times. The people as a rule live in peace and fi iendship toward all mankind. Our Sunday School is well attended at-tended by energetic workers, ranging rang-ing from the ageof four to about seventy sev-enty five. Order and system are the governing motives. On Christmas day the school met at the accustomed accus-tomed place at 1 o'clock. To the delight of all, they found that Santa Claus had done his work ero they could arrive, and at the stand were erected two trees loaded with pros ents, which were distributed ac cording to directions marked by the inhabitants of tho snowy regions. re-gions. On the lGth inst., Jonathan Petersen and 'Andrew Eskelson ltft for Scandinavia, where they were called to preach the Gospel. Ole Olson is already there; thus we have at the present time three laborers in that field. Bro. Joseph Jensen ia home again from Provo, where he has been attending the B. Y. Academy and completed the Sunday School course. Cupid has again sent his quivers quiv-ers among us. Hans Keller and James iSchow were his victims last week, when they escorted their fair ones to the Logan Temple, whore the holy bonds were agreed upon. ICIizii returned with the name Schow instead of Jeppsen, while Chri.stena exchanged Sorensen for Keller. The reception was held on the 23rd inst. Many relatives, and friends of tho contracting parties participated in the festivities. Both couples will make their abode here. Mrs. Keller was formerly ol Iyrum, Cache Co. Aula. Mantua, Dec. 28. |
