Show Alcohol and Tuberculosis. The most prominent tuberculosis spe cialists in the country agree that alcohol will not cure consumption. Dr. S. A. Knopf says: "Alcohol has never cured and never will cure tuberculosis. It will either prevent or retard recovery." recov-ery." Dr. Frank Billings of Chicago and Dr. Vincent Y. Bowditch, ex-presidents of the National Association for the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis; Tubercu-losis; Dr. Lawrence F. Flick of Philadelphia Phila-delphia and Dr. Edward L. Trudeau of Saranac Lake, the founder of the antituberculosis anti-tuberculosis movement in this country, are all of the same opinion. |
