Plan Fight for Restoration of Duty on Hides. Washington. Republican representatives represen-tatives from interniountain states have hopes of restoring the hide duty in the house, and of knocking out the reciprocal arrangement with Canada as to free trade in coal. They propose pro-pose to band together and resist the adoption of the rule for the consideration considera-tion of the tariff bill in the house until un-til their demands are granted and if the Democrats and Republican insurgents insur-gents act with them they can easily defeat the rule.
